Big Time Update - Week 1 Results

Wow what a big first week.  Looks like it’s going to be a great season!  Going into Monday night football every matchup was still up in the air.  Nothing like close fights down to the wire to get the blood flowing.  Unfortunately I haven’t thought of any exceptionally witty banter this week, so in an effort to avoid a Randy Moss-esk lack of respect rant for my weekly update, I’m just going to recap the week.

What Were You Thinking!?!

The What Were You Thinking!?! weekly award goes to (drum roll…) Dog Pound!  While it was a really good try this week, you officially scored almost as many points with the 6 players on your bench as you did with the 9 players in your starting lineup.  For a wee bit of quick consolation see “Stats Don’t Lie…#2”.  But in the end there’s only one thing I can ask…What Were You Thinking!?!

Weekly Wager

$3 - Which group scores the most fantasy points? Top 10 RBs or Top 12 WRs

Entries are due before 1 o’clock kickoff and can be made on the league discussion board or by emailing bigtimefantasyfootball@gmail.com.  This doesn’t cost anything! It will just be added or subtracted from your final season winnings.

Game of the Week

Miss N Colts vs Lehman Bros – Coming off a very tough loss (less than 2 points!) Miss N Colts faces the top team in the division and a good friend in Lehman Bros.  A lot could ride on this game within the Pass division and sets up a great showdown for Week 12 when these former fellow RAs go toe-to-toe again.  Keep an eye on this one, should be high scorer!

Owner Profile – Brad Nelson – DogPound

Bradley “Brad” Nelson is owner and chief administrator of the Dog Pound (I don’t think he owns one of those obnoxious dog masks and I know for a fact he doesn’t enjoy pouring beer on people…so I think the “Dog Pound” name is more of a lose affiliation). He works as a Financial Accountant at Bright Automotive, Inc. in Anderson, IN.

Brad is originally from Ohio but now lives in Noblesville with his new wife Lanette (co-owner of First Wives Club) and therefore is a big fan of THE Ohio State University.  He attempts to enjoy watching the Cleveland Browns on Sunday but once he’s had enough he can often be found on a basketball court (he won’t admit it but he’s pretty good).  When asked what he would do with his winnings he said he would invest a portion of it in Stichter Ventures and use the other portion to take his wife on a romantic date.

  1. Dan, not to be a back seat fantasy football blogger, but I think you mistakenly put the "close call" winner $1 in the "high point" column.

I think I should win something for having the highest exposure this week on the blog!
